Since the age of 15 when I sought counseling, an interest in psychology emerged and led to a journey to help others as I had benefited. I completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. and later completed a Master of Science and a Master of Mental Health Counseling degrees from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. Prior to my graduate work, I was certified as a behavior analyst working with children and adults with developmental disabilities and autism. I have over 25 years of individual, group, family, and couple counseling experience with ages ranging from childhood through adulthood. I maintain licenses to practice psychotherapy in Florida and Missouri. For me, my profession is not only a career but a passion and a lifestyle. I strive to help individuals with a collaborative integrated therapeutic approach incorporating cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and mindfulness styles of therapy that suit individual needs and goals. I find importance uncovering learned beliefs and conclusions formed since childhood that often interfere with wellbeing in adulthood. My hope is to assist individuals improve self-awareness through increased acceptance of themselves and their world, and to identify and shift perspectives that may interfere with their quality of life.
