CaPS Closing Announcement

Counseling and Psychological Services (CaPS) will officially close its doors as a clinical practice on December 31, 2023.

It is our profound privilege to have provided mental health services to the Columbia community for almost five decades.  We deeply appreciate the trust clients have put in our care.

Individual providers will continue to accept new clients at the 2804 Forum Boulevard office until CaPS closes at the end of 2023.  After December, providers will deliver psychological assessment, psychotherapy and other behavioral health services at various other practice locations.

Welcome

CAPS is currently observing CDC guidelines for COVID-19.  Therapy sessions are being conducted via Telehealth or telephone unless the therapist deems it clinically necessary to see a client in person.  CDC cleaning protocols are being done throughout the office.

Who are we? 

CAPS is a group practice located in Columbia, Missouri.  Established in 1976 by psychologists Drs James and Vicki Straub, this group of highly trained professionals provides therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and children. 

Each clinician is an independent practitioner who brings his or her own special areas of expertise to CaPS.  Our staff includes 5 licensed psychologists and 3 licensed clinical social workers. Our clinicians are trained in a broad range of treatment modalities and can provide treatment for a wide range of issues ranging from current life challenges to life-long difficulties.
